Build your CBT Skills with new Training and Clinical Supervision
The best and most influential therapy training that I’ve been on over the years has included 5 Essential Ingredients:
- The Trainer has got me to do stuff rather than letting me passively listen and read from slides.
- The Trainer has carefully organised what she or he wanted to teach so that I got to learn everything I needed.
- The Trainer has shown me the scientific basis for the concepts and the interventions.
- The Trainer has held the model and the approach lightly in order to remain open to its limitations.
- The Trainer has made the experience entertaining as well as educational.
I’d be a fool then, if I didn’t also combine these ingredients into the Training and Supervision that I offer.

What we teach
Openforwards training courses teach applied behavioural science. This includes Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) & Mindfulness. These approaches have strong evidence to support their effectiveness in helping people to alleviate their own psychological suffering.
Who is it for?
You are welcome to register for any of our training events. They are built and delivered with mental health practitioners in mind i.e. Counsellors, Psychologists, Psychotherapists, Psychiatric Nurses and Psychiatrists. However, if you work in the helping profession and you are eager to develop your psycho-therapeutic skills, then you will surely gain some valuable learning by coming along and taking part.
