Meet the Openforwards’ Community Organiser
For over fifteen years, Jim Lucas has helped people set themselves free from struggles with long-standing issues in their work, relationships, health and wellbeing. Until now, Jim’s approach has only been available to those who complete a course of individual psychotherapy, but many do not have the time, money, or freedom to make this commitment.
Why are we doing this?
Long before COVID came along, people were finding life hard. In 2015, depression became the leading cause of disability worldwide – up 4th from 1990.
Twenty years ago, there were 15 million prescriptions for anti-depressants in the UK. By 2019, this had more than quadrupled to 76 million.
If rates of depression and prescribing have increased significantly, then our current solutions are not working. We need an alternative. We want to end the pandemic of loneliness, distress and mental ill-health that has come to dominate our society.
