Not convinced this will work for you? You might be wondering where these lessons come from. You’ll be interested to learn that this course is built on the findings from a government-funded study carried out by New Economics Foundation (NEF).
Their project “took advice from over 400 worldwide leading experts from diverse disciplines including: economics, modelling and systems analysis, social sciences and ethics, neuroscience, genetics and mental development, psychology and psychiatry, and sciences relating to education, work and well-being.”
They looked at children, adolescents, adults and the elderly to understand how what you do can increase or reduce your well-being no matter how old you are.
Feeling good and functioning well is not just the absence of a mental health problem. To flourish, you need to go beyond treating depression, anxiety, addiction and psychosis. You need to know what do to thrive and that is what this course is all about.
Making changes in your life can be difficult when you’re all on your own. That’s why when you start this course, you’ll regular emails to let you know when each new lesson becomes available.
A course needs structure. We don’t dump all the learning materials on your lap in one go. You wouldn’t know where to start. Instead, you’ll get time to learn each lesson in manageable stages, so you can stay focused and keep learning.
Some people I’ve spoken to have told me they think they’re too lazy or busy to make the time for an online course. And, I agree it is important to be honest with yourself. There is no point in starting something if you’re not going to be able to complete it. And if there’s absolutely no way you’re ready for this course, then don’t do it.
To help you decide if you’re ready, answer this question – what brought you here in the first place? Are you so lazy or busy that you couldn’t get on the internet to find this course?
Of course not! Don’t believe everything your mind tells you. When you believe you’re too lazy or too busy, it can become a self-fulfilling prophecy. You believe you are so you put it off.
I’m not saying the solution is to tell yourself the opposite. Don’t try to convince yourself you’re super-committed or you’ve got bags of time on your hands. That would be a waste of time and energy.
Instead, ask yourself this – What would it be like in one year from now if nothing changed? Would you feel the same or worse?
If you don’t like what the future looks like, then it might be time to do something different.
